Dramatic weather

Gosh, I'm glad I've finished the painting. Like much of the rest of the country, we've had a couple of dramatic thunderstorms today.  We managed to get down to the village for a paper before it started, then happily lurked on board during the first and heaviest downpour.

Graham and Carolann arrived on board Autumn Years in the gap between the storms, and we had a couple of drinks with them whilst most of the second one passed over. By now, it was nearly two o'clock, and lunch seemed like a very good idea, so with the aid of four brollies we scuttled through the continuing precipitation to the Willow Tree, where we enjoyed an excellent repast.

After coming back to Sanity Again for coffee, they have set off to get a bit closer to their destination; since they moor in the river marina at Shardlow, they may have to wait a few days before actually getting back. Graham and Carolann, it was great to see you again, and I hope that the river levels don't give you too much bother.

Strangely, we've not done a lot else since; the sun is out again and things are drying off, so reading on the bow has seemed very attractive. I only decided to come in to do this blog because the wind nearly blew my cap off as I dozed gently in the warmth.

I know, I think I'll go and trim my beard...

Hi Bruce - did you have the hail as well? We're in Hinckley at the mo and it was apocalyptical here! (put a vid on our blog - http://nb-lois-jane.blogspot.co.uk/)

That's some video!

No, we didn't have the hailstones here, thank goodness, else I'd have been worried for the solar panel.

Cheers
