Good stuff, less good stuff

We'll start with the good stuff; the Ocado delivery turned up exactly half way through the booked time slot, and was almost all present. They'd subbed straight orange juice for orange and pineapple, but we can easily live with that.

The other really nice thing is that I asked Stephen and Jayne if we could borrow their folding sack truck tomorrow, because Peter is bringing the new batteries with him, and we'll need to move them from the car park to the boat. It turned out that their old truck had died, but as they were planning to get a new one anyway, they went and got it from Midland Chandlers today so we could use it tomorrow.

Aren't friends marvellous? I'd always been told they were a good idea, and now it turns out to be true…

Less good: guess what, the chairs have still not arrived! It's now ten days since we ordered them, and a week since we were told that they would definitely be here by last Monday. I called Cheap Mobility Online, got some bloke who promised to ring me back, and guess what again…

It's so annoying when this sort of stuff happens. I can recall an interview with Sir Terry Leahy; when asked what the secret of his success as a retailer was, he said "It's so easy; you find out what the customer wants, and give it to them. I don't know why everybody doesn't understand that."

Heigh ho, nice day to look forward to tomorrow, entertaining Peter and Susan, getting the batteries sorted, having a meal with them and Stephen and Jayne in the Willow Tree.

And making another phone call to Cheap Excuses Online…
