It's been 24 hours of renewing aquaintances, as well as getting the roof of the boat washed and doing a bit more shopping.
I'd barely finished my blog post yesterday and sat down to wile the time away until six when we usually have a beer, when there was a tap on the roof. (Alternative response here: My boat builder has a really odd sense of humour.)
We looked out to be greeted by George and Susan off Phoenix III. They reminded us that we had shared up Brausnton flight two years ago, when we were taking Sanity Again to be the show boat at Crick.
Seeing from the blog that we were here this weekend, they'd decided to look us up. George works for Fyffes, the fruit importers, and had brought us a splendid present of a neat presentation box filled with bananas, a pineapple and a fiendish tool for coring and slicing that last fruit.
We had a very pleasant natter over a glass of wine before they went back to their own boat which they moor in Braunston Marina. It was great meeting you again, folks, and have a good cruise!
This afternoon, on our way to get some oil filters from Braunston Chandlery and to see if the Bottom Lock shop stocked sun block (they did), we first had another chat with Stephen and Jayne on Dolce, then came across New Dawn with Bill and Eileen and Eleventh Heaven with Chris and Lesley tied just beyond Butchers Bridge. Much more nattering took place before we tore ourselves away to do our shopping. We met Eileen and Les again at the Bottom Lock Shop, and they invited us to have a cup of tea on our way home.
This we've done, hence the slightly late time for posting this…
/wahaha
We're all making our way towards Crick, where Eleventh Heaven will be the show boat. It's going to be another merry meeting, I can tell.
/bye
