Soggy Alrewas

After the wettest April on record, May has started out in the same soggy vein (actually, all veins are soggy, I suppose, but you know what I mean). So today's been another pretty uneventful day; my trip to the GP went well, I'm definitely not dead yet and can have another six months supply of drugs on the state.  He told me to go on doing whatever I've been doing, so now I suppose we have to find another boat to move from Crick to Poynton. Or will it do just to spend a fortnight eating in pubs?

We grabbed a break in the showers to take a walk down the towpath to the river section. It's in much the same state as it's been since we came up on Saturday; a bit below the red section, perhaps a little lower, but still running very fast down both the main channel and the mill stream.

I didn't want to take my good camera out in the wet, so experimented with the 5 megapix job on the new phone. It's not bad for a phone camera, though not as good as the Fuji, of course, especially at a distance:

Do NOT try to cut this corner!

This is normally a little sandbank above the quarter mile bridge

As well as swans, there are some oyster catchers in this one somewhere...

It'll be another quiet day tomorrow, then the dentist on Thursday. If necessary, we can hang about round here until the 20th, but then we will have to make tracks for Crick. Hopefully, we'll get away well before then, but it depends how long it takes to sort out my gnashers.
