Quick catch up

I tweeted last night to say that I wasn't going to blog until Sunday evening, but I've been persuaded to do a quick catch up now, just to keep on top of it.

Yesterday worked out very well, all things considered. We made our usual Mercia ambling start, but then mid morning went over to the Willow Tree and scoffed a breakfast each. We had a chat in the marina office about WiFi; the marina is installing a new and much improved WiFi service, which is currently free whilst they test and tweak it. I hadn't been able to connect, but back at the boat I had a thought and got it going.

{Note for nerds: I'd got the TCP/IP set to "DHCP with manual address", and it needed to be straight DHCP}

It's a good, fast service, which meant that we could each do a long overdue software update.

By now it was time to catch the bus into Burton; we did some shopping there, then I caught another bus to Alrewas, whilst Sheila headed back to Mercia with the loot.

After a certain amount of hanging about (the bus got in 30 minutes before my appointment), the dentist sorted the bite on my new crown. A bit more hanging about, and the bus trip back went equally smoothly.

Today, Elanor is picking us up to go to a country fair event at Castle Gresley, where Capable Canines are doing an agility display. I (or Sally) will let you know tomorrow how that went; Sal tends to be either the star of the show or the comic turn, depending on mood.
