Supertramp day

Oh, no, it's raining again

About says it all really. Activity in the last 24 hours: very pleasant evening yesterday, eating home made hot dogs, aka sausage inna bun, shades of Mr CMOT Dibbler of Ankh Morpork*, but a very poor night's kip, hot, muggy, as soon as you open some ventilation – here comes that song again.

Finally dragged ourselves out of bed at about eight this morning, and did pottering type jobs, browsing the net, printing and laminating window cards for members of the Braidbar Owners' Group, following the tennis on the Beeb website.

This afternoon, we watched a DVD, an episode of Campion, and finally after tea ventured out in a gap between downpours. Bought eggs and a copy of Canal Boat in the shop (Spanish omelette tonight), and popped into the office to hand in our confirmation for next year's mooring.

After I've done this post, we'll chill (sort of) for a bit, then cook tea, a few restorative drinks, and hope for better weather tomorrow, when it's day one of the Mercia Festival and Open Days. Whilst in the office we heard Lucy on the phone "Yes, it is still going ahead".

One advance into the future, you can now make donations to the C&RT, or sign up to be a Friend of the Trust.

*as in "That'll be fifty pence to you, and that's cutting me own throat."
