We hung about at Adlington until gone half nine this morning, as we didn't want to get to Poynton before others had had a chance to move off from the moorings on the Deeps. It gave us a chance to catch up with email and the like, and for the weather to brighten up; it was quite misty and murky at first, but has now become a lovely day.
When we got here, there was a space at the southern end of the Deeps, below a huge spreading sycamore tree. Not the the ideal place, but good enough to stop on pro tem. Martin on Ice Breaker was tied nearer the bridge, and as we walked up there we saw him talking to Peter. He's having some extra storage made for the well deck.
We had a chat with them and then with Eileen, Bill and Les; both Eleventh Heaven and New Dawn are in the yard having various jobs done. As the hire boat mooring was free, Martin moved Ice Breaker through the bridge onto it (it's handier for the workers there anyway) and we moved onto his space, ready for the Ocado delivery.
After lunch, we turned to and rinsed the port side of the boat and the stern bulkhead, then polished them. We'd not long finished when the Ocado van arrived. By the time we'd stowed all the goodies, Martin and Bill had been down the Deeps putting up the signs asking folk not to moor there next weekend, so that we'll have space for the Braidbars taking part in the merriment.
We've also moved Just Siviting from her Victoria Pit mooring to outside Ice Breaker, ready to take up a space on the deeps if one comes free.
Finally, we had a soft drink and a chat with Bill, Eileen, Les and Martin outside the Trading Post before staggering back to the boat to do this post, get a shower and cook a meal.
