Recovery Day

After an excellent night last night, eating in the Boars Head with Peter and Gill and Peter and Susan, we've been having a recovery day today. Peter and Gill came back to Sanity Again with us for a glass of wine, more nattering and a final up of tea/coffee.

Cala is in the paint dock at the moment having a couple of leaking windows fixed and her red handrails repainted, so they wanted to stay outside for as long as possible to let the fumes dissipate.

Today, we made a leisurely start and spent the morning catching up with emails and the like. Sheila's cold, which seemed to have retreated at the weekend, has re-emerged in the form of an irritating cough (for her, not me), so she's stayed inside most of the time.

I made a trip down the hill after lunch, when the rain had stopped for a bit, to get bread, some fresh meat and a paper, but apart from that, it's been a day for lurking in the cabin.

Hopefully, the weather will improve a bit as the week goes on, so that by the time our jobs are done, we'll be able to cruise in reasonable comfort again. It seems clear, though, that the Indian summer is over and autumn is here.
