Hi guys, me again:
I'm having my first Tuesday on the boat for quite a bit. It's Grandpa's birthday, but he doesn't seem to be doing a lot about it, frankly. I mean, when it's my birthday (earlier this month) I spend most of the time scoffing a humungous bone, but all he's done is loaf around.
Apart from taking me to the fields for a decent run, of course. We went out for a second time after lunch and a zizz, but we didn't get to run in the fields again, just plodded round the marina, chiz, chiz.
Anyway, that's enough about Grandpa, lets talk about me. First off, thanks to Houndy Sue for all her support; I do worry that Grandpa thinks he's going off his head or something. I don't think he is, he seems to spend most of his time doing the right stuff, that is eat, sleep, take me for walks, but you know how humans are. He doesn't really sit me on his lap to do this stuff, natch; I just take over his brain for a while.
He does need to be sober for me to do that, so I don't let him drink at lunchtime any more.
I'm keeping quite fit in myself, weight under control, doing a bit of agility but not too much. It's a human thing to get all competitive about it; I keep telling the other guys there to just do it for a laugh like I do, but the thing is most of them are collies and have the strangest ideas about doing what humans want.
Us lurcher and houndy types know that you have to do enough to keep the humans on side, but after that life is for chasing bunnies. (Unless you're called Ty, of course, in which case life is for hiding under the sofa. DOG UP, jelly boy!)
Sorry, got a bit carried away there. Oh, and hi to Lou, really really glad you're feeling so much better; us baad bitches need to look out for each other, woof!
Anyhow, Grandpa is starting to look weary, so I'll stop there and get back to you next week, probably.
Loads of licks from your friend Sally.
PS: here's a picture of me to keep you going. This is my studio shot for promo purposes – I'll try and get Grandpa to take some fresh ones for next week…
Happy Birthday!.
