Pottering in the damp

Heigh ho, rain again. No matter, we didn't have a lot planned for today, and the rain stopped for much of the middle of the day, so we were able to get down to the village for a raid on Coates the butcher and to get some bits and pieces from the Co-op.

Otherwise it's been a case of browsing the web, dealing with emails and reading the paper (surprise). This included sorting out a problem accessing a Tesco savings account – it turns out their web access doesn't work with Safari. Needless to say, sorting it involved a call to an 0845 number from our mobile, aargh!

Sheila put in some hard work giving the oven a spring clean. Although the cooker is much appreciated by me as the cook, it's much less satisfactory for the one who has to clean it. The so called stove enamel is quite soft and scratches easily and the oven doesn't come apart at all except for the shelves sliding out. Sheila spent some time on her knees with a non-stick type pan scrub as a result and it does look a lot better for it.

Tomorrow we'll bus into Burton to visit the hospital and to get other bits and pieces done.

  3. Hi both

I'll take a look at that app, thanks!

Chris: ditto, we passed Tilly May on our way into the village but she was all locked up. We must have just missed each other.

Heigh ho, there'll be another time.

    All the best
