This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Staying put on a thundery day
As forecast on the radio, it started to rain very hard with thunder accompaniment first thing this morning and, as we’re in no particular rush, we decided to stay put today and boat tomorrow.
So it’s been a very quiet day, apart from the thunder. I had a couple of packs of part baked baguettes in the cupboard, and we had those for lunch. Afterwards, things had dried up and quietened down a bit and we were able to get out for a walk through the fields in a big loop that took us back to the canal between The Old No 3 and the Barn Owl pubs.
Other than that, it’s been a day for reading and pottering. It’s quite a bit fresher outside now, though still inclined to feel humid, especially inside the boat with the hatches closed to keep the rain out.
It should be drier and still fresher tomorrow.
