This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Here we go
Today’s plan worked out very well, even if Elanor's satnav took us a slightly odd route to the Nu-trend showroom at Stapleford. We’d had two further recommendations about them since the original one and weren’t disappointed.
Gary was hugely helpful and we were able to see sofas in construction as well as a good choice of the finished product. The prices are just a little above what you’d pay at a discount warehouse like DFS or Sofa Sofa, but the quality cannot be questioned with good solid framing and excellent covers and fillings.
We were able to choose and order just what we wanted and look forward to seeing them in place in due course. Naturally, being bespoke built, the delivery is a touch longer than you might get for some machine made and bulk stored items but at 6 weeks it’s not at all unreasonable.
We’d taken the precaution of having breakfast in the Willow Tree first, so weren’t in a hurry to have lunch. Two of the three dog fields are full of white fluffy objects going baa at the moment, which meant that Sally had to be content with a walk round the marina.
This let us examine the plot which is all ready for the delivery of the lodge on Monday.
Much time has been spent on line comparing sources and prices of crockery, cutlery and so on. Some of it is coming from Ocado, would you believe, but much is going to be from either Amazon or Argos.
Tomorrow, Sheila is doing the WeBS walk in the morning and we’ve a regular Ocado delivery booked for the afternoon.
