Through Nuneaton to Mancetter

Sheila did one of her flying starts this morning; it wasn't sunny at first, but still pleasant in a misty murky sort of way. We chugged merrily on through Bedworth and Nuneaton, taking it in turns to steer, breakfast and make some bread rolls for lunch.

By eleven we were passing through Hartshill where the moorings looked rather busier than last week. We've come just a bit further on to tie on the towpath with a view over the fields to the West Coast Main Line. It's pretty busy (the noise is bearable, but then the fastest trains are only doing 110 mph, not 250) whilst there's much less traffic on the cut than there was south of Sutton's.

After we'd tied, Sheila found that we had a hitch hiker and managed to get a photo:

It reminds me of a Ryan Davies one liner: "There's something here somewhere I must have missed. Has anyone ever actually seen a newt... inebriated?"

For those who don't watch the comments section, by the way, George and Susan's new boat (banana boat?) is Caxton of blogging fame.
