Onnward

No, it's not a typo I'm afraid – we've boated past Little Onn, where the towpath edge was concrete piling, and tied just beyond the Valencia offside moorings. We're between Bridges 26 and 27; 26 is the one where the towpath changes sides and there's a nice stretch of Armco piling between them.

We did think about stopping at Little Onn, where there were already a couple of boats, but didn't fancy tying to pins today. Being the weekend, there has been a mix of privateers out for the day and hire boats apparently doing the Four Counties Ring in a week hurtling to and fro.

Ironically, the T-mobile connection is more reliable here, though technically on a weaker signal strength, than it was at Wheaton Aston. The weather has been very Spring like, sunshine and sharp blustery showers, some with big bouncing hailstones.

Sheila had cleaned the bathroom floor yesterday and did the study today, so I turned to and applied some polish to them both when she'd done.

It's made for a very pleasant day; a bit of boating and laundry this morning, a bit of cleaning this afternoon and the rest of the time perusing the paper, doing the quizzes and crosswords and generally relaxing in the warmth of the Squirrel (that wind is coming from the North again with a distinct edge to it).

Tomorrow we'll potter on to Gnosall, our last shopping opportunity apart from the Ocado delivery before we get to Norbury and the dry dock for five days. We may be reduced to eating in the pub…
