This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Blurry Monday
The beef was very good indeed last night; I can strongly recommend the butcher at Betty’s Farm. Apart from anything else, the food miles are absolutely minimal; the beast was a long horn from Calke Abbey just down the road.
I don’t think it was anything to do with the meal, but we then had a very broken night each, so today has been a bit of a blur. Despite that, Sheila’s been getting on with the Monday wash and we’ve both carried on with our internet research into the stuff we want for the lodge.
It’s also been confirmed that the water will be connected tomorrow and the gas man will finish his work on Wednesday. We’ll then go in on Thursday to do the initial snagging. Stuart and his team have started marking up the pathways and car park spaces, so matters are well on.
In addition to all this, at half eight we boated across to the service wharf to get a pump out and diesel. We couldn’t use our preferred position down the side of the wharf as they were preparing to crane out the Dutch Barge that’s been a demonstrator for New and Used Boat Co for a few years. It’s now been bought and is on its way to the Thames.
This afternoon we had our usual amble round the marina, chatted to various folk on the way and got back to the boat in time for a cup of tea.
Sally is visiting tomorrow so she’ll maybe do a blog for me.
