Lodge day 2

We’d invited Elanor across this morning to inspect the lodge; she turned up at ten, having taken advantage of her day off to have a short lie in. This was curtailed for her by the noise of the cat being sick downstairs yet again. She’s been struggling with his health for a while now and it looks like he may have come to the end of the line, sadly. He’s suffering and really hard to help these days.

Anyway, more cheerfully she was impressed with the lodge, though I don’t think Sally made too much of it. Afterwards we walked the rest of the way round the marina, stopping to chat to Ian and his dog Katy on the way.

Elanor then gave us a lift to Betty’s Farm as we’d heard that there’s now a butchery counter there. It’s only really staffed Wednesday to Saturday as it turned out, but we still got some beef and tomato sausages for tonight.

A spell of seriously sunny weather meant loafing on the bow for a bit until tea time. Once we’d refreshed ourselves, we walked round to the lodge again to take some photos and chat to Stuart the handyman about the landscaping. He reckons that the Pinelog guys will need a couple of days more. The gas is being connected tomorrow, but it’s not clear yet when the rest of the services will be done.

Once Stuart starts landscaping he’ll try to ensure that there’s always a clean access for us to do stuff  inside the lodge, which is good as it means we can start acquiring all the gear that’s needed to turn it into a functioning place to stay. Visits to Dunelm and Argos, courtesy of Elanor, are on the programme for next week I suspect. We won’t actually get the keys for a while yet, of course; we’ve yet to see the invoice much less pay it...

Just a few photos today after the plethora yesterday, showing the nearly completed outside.
