This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

The pace is rising
This really is going to be a quickie, dashed off between doing one set of things and another. Main entertainment yesterday, not long after I 'd posted the blog, was a day boat that decided to go the wrong side of the warning posts on the Deeps and ran thoroughly aground.
We got them going again with a set of shouted instructions, a case of boat handling training at a distance. In the evening, we had a get to know you drink with Graham and Victoria who own Sapphire, the newest boat to be on show this weekend.
Today, we’ve met with Susan and Peter and agreed the provisional arrangement of the boats, now a total of 15 completed ones plus one in build. Some boat juggling was just getting started, moving Eleventh Heaven out of the yard and Ice Breaker in, with Sanity Again shifting one space along on the towpath, when the Ocado delivery arrived.
We managed to get the groceries on board just before untying and pulling forward. Once the goodies were stowed, we adjourned to the Trading Post for a cup of coffee/hot choc and a natter with whoever was around, including Peter and Gill on Cala who had not long arrived.
Since lunch, I’ve created some sticky label badges with the Braidbar logo on to use to identify those potential customers who have been booked in. Some more boat polishing has been done and Sheila is presently watering and feeding the garden on our roof before we go and see what we can get on with at the bungalow.
Hopefully we’ll have a quietish night tonight before the really big effort tomorrow; with the forecast for rain all day Friday, we’ll need to get the gazebos and marquee up as well as the bunting and so on.
We’re just hoping that the heavy showers predicted for Saturday turn out to be less severe than expected.
