Wet, weary yet successful

This morning, we cleaned the boat inside, whilst it poured down outside. Adam and Adrian turned up on Briar Rose just as we were finishing; they tied temporarily outside one of the non-Braidbars until their proper slot was ready later. We had a quick coffee with Adam whilst Adrian caught up with some work and then finished off our jobs and ate lunch. Just at the end of that meal, Keith and Alison turned up to take possession of their boat Janet Grant which was tied outside us.

At half one, boats were shuffled in all directions, so that we actually ended up with them all in their right places. It continued to persist down whilst we were doing this, but morale remained high in spite of it all.

Since then, we’ve sorted the marquee for tonight’s pot luck supper and had a restorative cup of tea in the bungalow, chatting to various folks as we did so. The clans are now gathering with a vengeance; it looks as if we’ll have around 32 eating tonight.

Speaking of which, I’d better go and start cooking something...
