The weather has been as forecast, and indeed we've behaved as I forecast last time; we've had a quiet day indoors, listening to the wind howl and the rain pour down from time to time. I'm certainly glad we made it back yesterday, as the wind has gone round rather, and would have been blowing in the port quarter when I was trying to berth Sanity Again.
Nuzzling up to a pontoon to windward is one thing, but being blown down onto one to leeward would have been much trickier.
I'd cancelled the order for the paper at the marina shop, of course, but when I went in to restart it, they had one on the rack; it looks as if they just carried on collecting it anyway. I was able to get some peppers and mushrooms too, which was handy, as I'm making risotto tonight, and would have had to walk into the village for them otherwise.
We'd told the Walking for Health folk not to expect us today, and did think about going to see the Owl Experience at Betty's Farm instead, but by mid afternoon the weather was at its worst, so we've stayed inside doing Christmas shopping via Amazon.
We must have got a bit punch drunk in the process; the final item was Sally's present, an Easidri towel, and we sat and solemnly discussed whether to order it with gift wrapping and a tag before coming to our senses. Sally may be bright, but I don't think she's going to look at an Amazon parcel and think "Oh goody, a towel for Christmas".
My thanks to Ann Street, by the way, for drawing these to our attention; they sound much better than using an old towel.

Our hounds enjoy ripping open their gift-wrapped Christmas gifts - but that's because the parcels are spiked with chew-sticks!

Poor Sally, getting an Easidri for Christmas! Surely that is for the owner, not the dog. Go on, buy Sally something she will really appreciate, like a big juicey raw bone.
Hope you find the Easidri useful. I keep one in the car, one in the caravan, one in the boat and one in the back porch. You never know when you are going to have a wet muddy dog to contend with :-) Now that we have 3 dogs, there's a lot of wet dog to dry. We recently gave a home to a 10 month old collie who had been handed into a pound in Ireland to be put to sleep. He is the most loving dog we have ever had.

Noticed this aft that we can see the first boat on your pier! (That's after getting the map thing & working out who's who & where's what).
Anyway from our end it's a blue boat with a black pram cover. I'm sure you'd be able to see ours if you like right when walking up your pier. It's only possible thanks to the fact that there's 4 berths empty opposite us tho. (Sorry, thats 8 empty narrowboat berths)
We're almost inline with your pier, it's the one beyond the dutch barge. And we're the second boat from the very end of ours.
Go outside on the pier & checkout the lights on top of TT in a V shape! You just might be able to see us!
Past few days have been hectic, managed to tart the boat up like a Christmas tree today. Will come round & see you when we've got a window open lol.
Still have no idea where nb Adagio is.
Went to the cafe the second day we were here (after the clean up op) & noticed a green boat on the visitor moorings opposite the hire boats called "Sanity". Wasn't sure it was your boat because I thought it was called "Sanity again." Coincidence?
Anyway we're settling in nicely now, still got loads to do tho, you know the boring practical stuff :-)
