… and I've sold one copy already, to a reader of this blog, what's more. Thanks, it's a great start. It's available here, though Amazon have decided to credit Sheila with first author. Well, fair enough, I couldn't have done it without her. If you want an ePub version, email me and we'll sort out ways to pay – it will be the same cost as the Kindle version, that is £3.02, as I'm not allowed to undercut Amazon.
Apart from that, we've been dog sitting today; I had thought of getting Sally to do this post, but she says she's very tired with all the extra exercise she's been getting recently, and anyway, we're being dead boring fiddling about on the computers. She had a great run in the field with her mates Duffy and Katie, so she's actually not got much to complain about.
I've started work on my contributions to Sheila's book. I'm doing the stuff about phones, a couple of recipes and some bits about mobile broadband and the like.
Then it'll be into Sigil with it to sort out the formatting and add some photos, and it can go out into the world as well.
We're still using the 3 modem, as T-mobile seem to be having a problem round here, just a 2G connection with a very faint signal. Hey ho, no doubt it will return in due course…
Stephen and Jayne are coming round tonight to help us celebrate our publishing debut, so we'll have a quiet start tomorrow, I reckon.

Bruce,
I am still waiting for the sample to 'download' it seems locked in the Amazon servers?? I requested it last night and it has still not appeared on any of my devices. Not being tight I will almost certainly order it but wanted to have the sample first?
Nev
Curiosity drives me to ask, why is it such an unusual price? The odd penny (pence) on the price seems quite unusual.....or perhaps that's your profit margin ;-)))
Forgot to add Nev that I've looked at the sample last night and again tonight spurred on by your comment, and it has downloaded instantly both times.
Hi
I bought your book this afternoon and I must say I'm really enjoying it. I read your blog as you were getting Sanity Again and its still interesting to read. It makes me wish I could get a narrowboat.
I'll leave you a review on Amazon but I thought I'd better read the whole thing first. :-)
I hope you are both well.
Graham
I too am now the proud owner of a First Edition volume of 'Building Sanity Again'. Cries of "Author Author" can no doubt be heard flying across Mercia Marina... Well done Sheila & Bruce.
p.s.
Did you know your link was pointing to amazon.com and not co.uk I nearly bought it in dollars... lol
Hi folks
Thanks for all the positives, that's a relief. I'm sorry about the link; it'll teach me not to check it when I post. It's the one off the email I had from KDP confirming publication, and I didn't notice that it was to .com.
Nev, is that your problem? You might be trying to get a sample from the wrong bit of Amazon.
The odd price is because you set the price net, in USD and the system then converts it to the other currencies, and adds VAT (at the rate for Luxembourg, I think).
Thanks again one and all – if you think this one's good, wait till you see the next one, including my famous recipe for roast Canada goose ;)
Cheers
Bruce
