Bright and cold

I forgot to mention yesterday that we did a pump out first thing, a few days early but I didn't like the look of the forecast. As it was, we had to break ice to get onto the service wharf, although our side of the marina was clear. (Of course, Mercia is so big, you have to accept that the weather may not be the same all over its area…)

/wahaha

Today, after a very cold night, we had ice all over the place, so it would have been even more of a hassle, and would probably have scraped some of the blacking off.

So we were able to make a lazy start. I went onto the TNT website and checked the whereabouts of the chairs, which had reached the Nottingham depot, ready for delivery on Friday. We popped into the marina office to warn them that they might well have a driver come in looking for us, since it's far too much to hope that, after DMD's mucking about, the original delivery instructions are still attached to the consignment.

If they can't get the address right, what hope for the phone number?

After lunch we went on the Walking for Health walk today. It was well worthwhile, though we took the precaution of putting on the thermals and the lined trousers and wore gilets under our fleeces. This cold spell isn't likely to last very long into next week, but it's being seriously chilly at the moment.

Right, that's your lot, I'm off to have a shower and then roast a chicken for dinner. Tomorrow, who knows, our chairs might turn up!

Hi Bruce,

Our blacking is now non excistant thanks to our travels from Birstall to Kilby today. The ice was nearly an inch thick in places! I would also like to thankyou for your tip on tar leakage from our two chimney's. It worked a treat! No more staining.
Hope to see you soon sometime.

All the best,

Irene & Ian
