Busy morning, quiet afternoon

After a leisurely start this morning, we went over to the Willow Tree for a celebratory breakfast. We'd picked the right day to do it, in that it had been colder than ever overnight, and a fry up was welcome. Disappointingly, it didn't include the usual black pudding, but otherwise was well up to standard:

There was more toast than that, but no room to show it...
We took our time over that as well, indulging in a second cup of decaff before picking up the paper from the shop and going back to the boat to kit up with extra layers and boots. Then we walked into the village to collect a prescription from the pharmacy and a few bits and pieces from the Co-op.

We used the towpath there and back, pleasanter than the road, especially since the mud was frozen solid.

Back at the boat, we've done some serious chair testing, as well as things like printing off and laminating the adverts offering the Poangs for sale, to go in the laundries. After the feedback via yesterday's comments, we've dropped the asking price to £25 for the pair, or any offer. We're frankly more concerned that they should have a good home than to make much money from them.

If we don't sell them locally in the next week, I'll put them up on eBay.

Sheila also composed a parts list and assembly instructions, so the next owner shouldn't have too much trouble putting them together.

Otherwise, it was back to chair testing again. Lunch consisted of just a cup of soup and a piece of fruit after our indulgent start, so I'm quite looking forward to the chicken risotto I'm planning for tonight. Outside, it's now snowing – it'll be warmer overnight, but trickier walking tomorrow, I suspect.
