Warming up and keeping busy

We had an Ocado delivery booked for the 10 - 11 slot today, but at ten past nine we got a text from the driver, Connel, to say that he was running early and could he turn up at 9.25? That was fine by us, so by ten o'clock we had a load of bags of groceries around the place.

I hadn't had a chance to get the newspaper or dump the recycling, so after doing the check in, I just popped the perishable stuff in the fridge and nipped out for a bit. Then we turned to and stowed the rest of the supplies. An unexpected extra was a bag of IAMS cat food. It wasn't a sub or anything, presumably just someone else's moggy nosh. We also had a crushed loaf, so I went onto the Ocado website to claim a refund for it, but couldn't find a way of telling the system that we had an unexpected item in the bagging area, as the supermarket self check-outs so often say.

Looks like Cato, the cat we left for Elanor to look after, is going to have a treat for a few weeks; he normally gets very basic food, as he's a pig and grossly overeats the tasty stuff.

After lunch, we walked down to the village to buy a postal bag for the latest crochet order that Sheila's finished, and to despatch it. The weather is milder, but with a cruel nor' westerly for much of the time, so the walking is really rather unpleasant if you can't get out of the wind.

Back at the marina, we went round it the long way back to the boat, so that we'd had about a three mile walk altogether. The ice is steadily retreating, though it will be a few days before boat traffic is completely unhindered.

The T-mobile modem had been insisting on making just a 2G (GPRS) connection over the weekend, and we've been using the 3 MiFi instead. This afternoon, I had a browse around the T-Mobile control panel, and found out how to force it to make a 3G connection, since when it's been behaving itself. Presumably, it has a choice of two signals here, and has been feeling a bit lazy.

Hi Bruce
Had to do a bit of a double-take there!
We had an Ocado delivery booked for 10-11 o'clock and our driver phoned at around 8:30 asking if we would like an earlier delivery, and he came at 9 o'clock.
In our case however, it was 9 pm!
Cheers!
