Lazy morning, busier afternoon

Having decided we weren't moving the boat today, we loafed in bed until half eight and then made a leisurely start to the day. Needing to light the fire, we did go out and scavenge a load of dead wood for kindling from the copse alongside the boat, but that was about it until after lunch.

We had bought some new stuff for cleaning the floor whilst at Braidbar, the proper Osmo wash and care detergent, and the liquid wax cleaner for maintaining the oiled finish. Until now, we've mainly swept the floor, and washed it with ordinary detergent if it got dirty.

We made a start in the bathroom, study and galley, and very effective it was too. The wash and care gets the dirt off with a minimum of wetting, and a very small amount of the liquid wax (10ml per square metre) restored the finish. We'll do the saloon, dinette and bedroom sometime soon, and then do it all again next month ready for the Crick Show.

After that, we rested on our laurels a bit, doing yet more web surfing and emailing, before Sheila cut my hair. I'll shower to get rid of the bits once I've done this blog, and cook the other half of the bolognese we had the other night for dinner.

Tomorrow, we'll head for Alrewas, and stay there until Friday, when we plan to pop back into Mercia Marina for the weekend.
