Another early start, another pleasant morning's boating, another arrival at Alrewas…
Minimalist blogging!
It was very pleasant to arrive at Fradley not worrying about whether there would be room on the waterpoint (there wasn't) or whether we would get a mooring on the T&M (plenty of room at half nine). The Fradley locks were largely with us, so down we went without hassle. I had a quick chance to say hi to first Sally on Ella, then Phil as he walked back swinging an empty cassette; good to see you both!

I had a quick conversation with Harry Arnold as Sanity Again descended Bagnall; the local C&RT Waterways Partnership will include three boaters, namely himself, Will Chapman and Beryl McDowell. That should make for some lively meetings, since all three are strong personalities, as they say. Harry reckons the C&RT launch will go ahead on 12 July, with the local event at Fradley, but I haven't seen any official confirmation of that; last heard, it was still dependent on the Parliamentary process grinding through.
We arrived at the moorings by the Bowling Green just as another boat vacated a 70 foot space, so good timing there. The boards above Bagnall and at the river lock say "Proceed with caution" but the river section is well down at the bottom of the green, so it looks like they've been left from an earlier surge.
Tomorrow, one final early start, not quite six but more like seven probably, and so home to Mercia.
