I'm home! We did some more boating this morning, to a place called Penkridge, would you believe, and in the middle of the day, Mummy arrived. Was I relieved. You could tell that the food in my big box was getting quite low from the way the AGPs had to rake around in it, so I was beginning to wonder what was going to happen when it ran out.
What's worse, when we set off this morning, the dozy old

Grandpa and I walked along the towpath whilst Granny boated slowly along behind us, on account of all the moored boats and fishermen, she said. Naturally, I was checking all these out for grub, as I was STARVING. It was no good, Grandpa kept me on the lead in all these possible nosh producing situations, swizz swizz. In my experience, fishermen often have sandwiches they can be "persuaded" to share with solemn stares, or if that doesn't work, give 'em a flash of the teeth, hee, hee.
I had a great encounter with a couple of setter type pooches, and then helped Grandpa work a lock before getting back on board and finally getting fed.
A bit after that, we went under a huge motorway bridge, passing a hire boat full of shouting kids coming the other way. I gave one big bark, and it echoed on and on for ages. The kids squeaked and shut up.

Anyway, I'm safe and sound back home, was quite glad to see the cat, even. In nine days, I've boated from Fradley to Penkridge, helping at 11 locks on the way and getting to see loads of other dogs, one cat and three hares playing in a field that meanie Grandpa wouldn't let me chase.
It's been fun, but living in a house with Mum is even better, and I get to sleep on the bed with her all night, not just have a stingy bit of snuggling in the morning.
So take care all of you out there – don't know when I'll be boating next, but I'll certainly let you know when I do.
Loads of licks

PS Sue: don't worry about your hounds putting comments on here, I know they've got a lot of stuff on at the moment, what with the Olympics and everything. I hope Lou gets fully better real soon, and best of bum sniffs to Ollie and Ty.
Love
Sal
