The connection is a bit slow just now, so I'll keep this simple.
We had a leisurely start this morning, as we only wanted to get to Fradley today, and didn't want to arrive too soon. I popped into the village to get guess what, and we pottered about until nine. The river has continued to subside, so with luck will stay open for the weekend.
Sheila ran a washload as we worked our way up the cut, in rather gloomy weather. It didn't however actually start raining until we'd been here for a couple of hours, and the forecast is quite promising for once in this Supertramp Summer.
There's been a bit of traffic passing both ways, mainly hire boats but with a sprinkling of privateers.
Although not teeming down, the damp has been too discouraging to go out much, so we've had a quiet afternoon in the boat, reading, watching yet another Campion episode and browsing the web a bit.
We'll stay here for tomorrow, taking delivery of a certain Doberman lurcher tomorrow evening. Saturday we'll set off north, but not pushing it; we've got about 6 weeks to do the Four Counties ring, with possible excursions to Chester and Manchester and definitely Poynton.
