It was warm enough last night to sleep with the Houdini fully open, and we managed a reasonable night's sleep, mostly before half five, then a bit more after, when Sally had joined us. We've not been very active today, just doing the regular stuff on a day when we're not moving the boat. The rough plan is to boat every other day, so that we haven't moved too far away by next Sunday, when Elanor will come to collect the pooch.
We'd not long finished breakfast when Priscilla turned up, and we had a cup of coffee and some chat with Graham and Beryl. Sally thought that they were wonderful, and had eventually to be discouraged from demanding endless strokes from them.
The guy from ABNB had come out to them at Stone, so Priscilla should be up on the website from next Friday.
Sally and I had a bit of a walk when they'd gone; this is quite a good spot for that, with decent hedges and arable crops in the fields, no distracting sheepy type animals.
This afternoon we've been ordering some bits and bobs on the web in preparation for the Owners' Weekend next September (Sheila) and adding some more entries to the Pub Guide (Bruce). There's been a fair amount of traffic, and Graham and Beryl told us that it had been very busy at Colwich and Haywood locks yesterday. The combination of the start of the school holidays and some decent weather has no doubt brought out a lot of leisure boaters. Amongst them were Martin Pocock on Marmite, Braidbar 127, who was on his way back to Kings Bromley Marina with some mates.
Tomorrow, we'll make an early start, stop to shop in Rugeley and then look for a mooring near Bridge 69.
