Since the pump out tank was very nearly full, I was going to call this one "For this relief, much thanks" but decided Shakespeare* was a bit classy for the topic…

Anyway, we've achieved our main objectives for the day, namely getting away at the right time to arrive at Heritage after they'd opened, getting a pump out and then tying nearby (just before Bridge 87, in fact). Heritage still do one of the best pump outs we know of; it's £16, but the rinse out is very thorough, the gauge was right back down to minimum.
On the way, Sheila had hopped off as we approached the Hightown moorings and nipped up to the Premier store there to get some fresh bread and a paper. She rejoined me before I'd got the length of the visitor moorings, admittedly slightly out of breath.
Needless to say, having no witnesses, I managed the tricky, bendy multiple bridge holes on the approach to the VM without touching the sides.

After lunch, we took a walk up to Scholar Green; you go past the Rising Sun and carry on to the A34, turn left and keep going to find a Co-op and Post Office. The side road just before the store, Cinderhill Lane, leads back to the canal, eventually.
Either way, it's about a mile; the back road is rather more pleasant as it doesn't involve walking alongside the main road, but there's a bit more up and down hill.
Apart from that, it's been a quiet day. We did a bit more wood cutting – we're still working our way through all that nice wood Elanor brought us in the spring – but otherwise have been lurking indoors reading mostly.
*Hamlet, Act I scene 1 if you're wondering. Click here if you don't believe me; you don't get that with a cassette!
