Dog to dog blog: on the boat for a rest

Hi guys

It's been a stressful couple of days, so I was glad to get to the boat for a bit of a rest today. Sunday was an agility competition, and I scored a fourth and a seventh place, so I think Mum might be getting the hang of it. But it's still very tiring, all that concentration, not to mention the actual jumping up and down.

Then yesterday it rained very seriously indeed; didn't want to go out at all, but come lunchtime Mum didn't show up, and I spent the afternoon chewing my paws worrying that she'd been washed away or something. Turns out the roads were so bad she couldn't drive home.

It's a good job I have a high capacity bladder, or things might have got a bit messy…

Today we had to drive a really weird way round to get to the boat, but made it and I got a decent charge about in the field. It was pretty soggy underfoot, but I don't mind that, it just makes it all the more fun to charge through it. No sign of the bunnies, though; I'm a bit worried that they've all drowned, as many of their holes were full of water. I tried looking down the dry ones, but no sign.

Back at the boat I had a good crash, only waking up to scoff Grandpa's apple core after he'd had his lunch. We all went for a walk in the afternoon, but now it's turned very cold, with a nasty sharp wind. The AGPs put my raincoat on, as Mum hadn't left a proper warm coat.

As a result I kept getting eye balled by some of the riff raff you see walking round here ( terriers, mostly) and had to offer to put them in their place. Maybe shouldn't have tried that on with the Great Dane, mind, but he's a huge dopey lump of a thing.

I don't know, what can you do about humans? The forecast has been for cold weather for ages, but does that get through to Mum? Maybe I should have taken up that offer from Houndy Sue to go and catch her mice, she really knows how to pamper a pooch.

Never mind, hopefully Mum will get back to collect me tonight, though worryingly, she's put my food bowl and two portions of food in my overnight bag…

/hmm

Oh well, take care of yourselves out there in the cold and wet, and I'll see you next week.

Loads of licks

Oh Sally that all sounds very stressful....

You can come round for some extra TLC any time - in fact, I think you'd really enjoy it here now because I have six boy hounds in the house and Lou is too ill :-( to take advantage of them!

I think you're much fitter than them though so I don't know if they'd keep up with you!

Take care of yourself and the AGP's (and your mum, of course!).
