Wind down Wednesday

After the excitement of Sally's visit, we had an undisturbed night's sleep last night, and a relaxed but not too late start this morning. The weather has been dry but still pretty cold, with a sharp wind blowing; we took a brisk walk to Betty's Farm Shop as our exercise.

There, we bought some meat and a couple of jars of cooking sauce; one of them more of the curry sauce we liked the other day, and another an experimental item, a smoked apricot sauce to go with some chicken breasts.

Back at the boat, we've been pottering, quite frankly. I'd resurrected the old iPod to keep Sally quiet yesterday, and find that its battery is pretty well defunct, and indeed some of its controls are getting a bit hit and miss too. I can't really blame it; it's a third generation classic model, older than Sanity, never mind Sanity Again. We ought to use it more – since it's only ever used to play through the sound system, it's not a big deal to run on the mains all the time.

Sheila offered to get me a new one for Christmas, but I don't think I can justify the expense really, not unless the current one gets too cantankerous.

And that's about it for today; tomorrow, we'll join the walking group in the afternoon – I must find something constructive to do with the morning, like work on the ebook.
