This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Back at Milton, nearly
It’s very hot and I’m very tired despite just having had a short siesta and we’re going to eat with John and Nev tonight and I want to save all my remaining energy for that and I’ve just posted two catch up posts so you don’t need much in this one.
Thank heavens for that, I thought the full-stop key had stopped working…

Anyway, we woke very early this am (like half four), had tea at five and were boating by six. We did a long day’s cruise (six hours, long for us) in mostly pleasant weather; the answer in these conditions is to get it all done by midday if you can.
Sheila steered, I locked up six and down six, mostly against us, and we stopped at Park Lane for a water tank top up. It must be one of the fastest taps on the system, not counting the EA East Anglia waterways where the water points are fire hoses.
There was a fair bit of traffic about later on but we didn’t get seriously held up, not even following three other boats down Stockton Brook.
We’ve been shopping in Milton, I’m going to go and get a shower and I’ll do a proper post tomorrow, hopefully with a considered view of the Caldon.
Meantime, I’m looking forward to just one day of cooler weather; they say it will struggle to get into the twenties tomorrow…
/wahaha
