Doing a flit, moonlight or not, is a good Scots term for moving house. In our case it's temporary; we've moved into the lodge for a bit over a week. It's made for a busy day, with lots of to-ing and fro-ing; when we move back a week on Wednesday, we'll get Elanor to come over on her day off and give us a hand.
The day started well as the Ocado order turned up 20 minutes early. By the time we'd got it stowed and a wash load run, it was coffee break time, after which we started the move. It's gone very well; we've lunched in here and now have enough stuff for dinner tonight and for sleeping. Tomorrow we need to go to the village, bake some parkin to take to the Marina Christmas party and shift drinks to the lodge.
This is because we've got some entertaining lined up; a marina volunteers meeting tomorrow, Trevor and Rachael are coming on Friday and Lloyd and Helen on Saturday.
In other news, the piling has now finished and the piling rig removed. We wait to see the next phase, which will involve cutting the piles down to size and constructing the ground frame linking them together.
Finally, a photo of last night's spectacular sunset:
