Lurking on a sunny day

It's been a very pleasant day, though it's just started raining now; probably a heavy shower as a precursor to some more serious precipitation tomorrow. When it's my turn to steer, naturally.

We've not been idle; the starboard side of the boat has been washed and microfibre dried this morning, then after lunch we turned to and polished it. It's not come out as evenly shiny as we'd like; we must have left it a bit long before doing it. Another coat of polish in a couple of weeks should sort it.

We've seen lots of locals passing by, some of whom stopped to chat and most of whom managed not to say the obvious stuff like "you've missed a bit" or "when you've done that you can do my car if you like".

Ha di ha di hah as Sally would say.

We've seen a moderate amount of boat traffic too, including a fair number of Canaltimes, but the moorings are still nothing like as busy as they used to be.

We'll see Elanor tonight, then head off for maybe Handsacre tomorrow.
