Sit tight Saturday

We've just been hit again by a boat trying to creep past us in a fierce cross wind. It's more understandable, but we've never known a year like this one for being clonked. If you need to move in such difficult conditions, it's the one situation where you are justified in moving a bit faster than tickover past moored boats, I reckon.

No matter, working backwards in time for once, we've just had a pleasant surprise; Graham and Beryl in Priscilla II have arrived behind us and invited us round for a drink later. Like us they are on their way to Crick, but need to leave the boat at Braunston for a week while they go home for another commitment. They'll have to move on tomorrow, therefore.

Before that, Elanor and Sally came over, bringing us some important post and some photos of the Erde luggage trailer Elanor wants me to sell on eBay. It's one I gave to her many years ago which she no longer needs. That's up there now for a week on a buyer to collect from Burton basis.

What with the wind and visiting the AGPs in a strange place, Sally was in a barmy mood, running about, chasing Tinkerbells caused by reflections from her collar tag and generally acting as if she was around four years younger than she is.

This morning we had an early trip to the shops in a window of dry and almost calm conditions. We got the waterways magazines from WH Smith and a load more stuff from Sainsbury's.

Apart from that, we've been lurking indoors, listening to the rain howling and the wind pouring down.

Well, something like that, anyway.

:))
