Today's jobs were mostly internet based this morning, apart from filling the water tank. I wanted to make a short bit of hose to use for filling a watering can from the tap on the bollard, but didn't have a spare Hozelock connector for it.
So we ambled off to Midland Chandlers, where we bought some self adhesive non-slip panels to put on the front steps, but no connector as they don't stock them.
Back at the boat, I activated my new internet access to the Willington Surgery website. They've upgraded it substantially; you can now not only order repeat meds much more easily, but also book non-urgent appointments for up to four weeks ahead.
For urgent appointments you still have to ring on the day and have a GP phone you back.
This afternoon, we headed into Derby to visit the tax office (it was shut, they all are now, you have to phone instead) and to see the photos.
We were dealt with by a much more confident and socially skilled guy. He made no attempt to sell us more photos at silly prices, but just showed us the ones that his colleague had managed to take.
There was one decent one of Sally and Elanor which they will supply as part of the original deal. He also indicated that we could have a complementary session later on with Sally and talked much more knowledgeably about non-flash techniques to use with her. He seemed generally much more clued up about the skills of shooting animals and I suspect would have made a better job of the session.
But they still want silly money for the finished photos; it would have to be a very special occasion to justify that kind of dosh, I reckon.
It'll be a much quieter day tomorrow; I might stir myself and do an oil change on the engine...
