Knock, knock, knocking

...not on Heaven's door but on our baseplate was the theme of last night. The rain stopped, the wind came up and there was no way we could keep the edge of the baseplate from banging on the stupid concrete ledge. Why the 48 hour moorings at Adlington should pretend that they are on the Shroppie is another of those mysteries and makes the 24 hour restriction on the good, Armco edged section even more annoying.

There was still a lot of wind in the forecast this morning but we didn't want to spend another broken night, so waited until half nine and then set out for the thirty minute cruise to The Deeps of Poynton. We'd clearly got the timing right, as there was a choice of spaces when we got here.

It was nice time for a bubble hot choc at Bailey's Trading Post and then a visit to the yard. Peter was out but we had a good catch up with Susan and collected a couple of parcels we'd had sent there. Truly, Braidbar customers are treated as friends.

Back at the boat, we got into conversation with John and Jill off Butty Lark tied in front of us. They are pondering a new boat and have already had a chat with Peter and Susan. One of the things they have to decide is "how long?" So we dragged them round Sanity Again to show off the advantages of the full length boat.

They are very pleasant folk; it would be good to welcome them into the Owners' Group. They are planning to come to the Open Day on 6th September so will see a lot more boats then.

Since lunch we've rather been taking it easy, though Sheila had a session trying to resurrect the flower display after their Bertha battering. Sadly, we may be reaching the point where they are just too far gone to keep looking good. The chances of them still being with us on the 6th are pretty slim, so we may as well unload them now.

This would at least give Sheila more time to help prep the boat for that weekend.

Tonight, down to the Boar's Head, aka the BOG Club House, for dinner.

Tomorrow, who knows?
