Mostly good

This blog's a bit late, mainly the fault of Opera Australia. We've been whiling away another wet afternoon by watching The Mikado and it's a long opera. Although the production is now quite old (1988), it's one of the best modern takes on it we've ever seen; superb singing and acting with an intimate feel (despite being staged in the Sydney Opera House) that gave a panto like quality to the fooling about.

Yes, Mr. Millin, it was a prompt start this morning; we were ready to repel boarders receive visitors not long after eight. This was just as well, as the guy bringing in the next boat turned up early. There was time to fill the water tank three quarters full and for John the joiner to sort our mis-hung cratch doors (when Wilson's replaced them they hung them slightly too low).

Then we backed out and I winded Sanity Again just outside the yard. Fortunately the water levels are rather better or it could have been quite tricky. We found a spot on the Deeps, bow to bow with Butty Lark, and settled down to wait for the postman to arrive at Braidbar. This he did just after we'd had lunch, as I found when I'd walked back to the yard in a rainstorm.

The post included the repeat prescription I'd ordered from the Willington Surgery by post last Friday. My relief at seeing it was tempered by the discovery that of the nine items I'd asked for, only five had been prescribed. Fortunately that includes the ones I have least of on board, but it still means another letter and SAE to Willington.

At least they had managed to keep the SAE with the request this time. Since the default disposal of a repeat request there is now to pass the prescription straight through to the pharmacy, we had Elanor standing by to pick the drugs up on Saturday and get them to us somehow.

Ah well, we'll cope and can now potter off to Marple tomorrow, then on to Bugsworth for the weekend.
