Back to Wolverley

Last night's post ended a bit abruptly because the app I use for blogging from the iPad, BlogPress, decided it wouldn't let me upload photos. Worryingly, it's disappeared from the App Store so is presumably no longer supported. In fact, there don't seem to be many apps for blogging from the iPad and the only one with halfway decent reviews, BlogTouch, costs actual money.

Well, OK, £4.99, but I'm still reluctant to buy even a small pig in a poke.

Anyway, here's the pic I wanted to post, the Upper Basin at Stourport first thing in the morning:

Today, we got going in good time and had a glorious run back to Wolverley Court, where we moored above the lock just on 11 o'clock. After a coffee, Sheila put today's washing out on the whirligig where it started drying almost visibly. We loafed about until lunchtime, then afterwards walked on to Wolverley proper for more ice cream.

Back at the boat, Sheila got the washing in and then we've frankly sat around on the bow enjoying the exceptional weather in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Apart, that is, for all the birdies and the noise of an ice cream van in the estate behind us. A mink has been seen swimming around by the reeds, so the mother duck proudly showing off her round dozen of ducklings had better watch out.

The lock wheeler of a boat we crossed with here tells me that Stourport is notorious for bikers, who patronise the pub by the fun fair. Note to self and anyone else tying there – it's better to stop on the visitor moorings before the Black Star, away from the roads.

Tomorrow, on to Kinver.
