Beneficial friends

I've mentioned before the paradox that since we took to the life afloat, we probably have more friends and bowing acquaintances than when we lived "on the bank", which is reassuring in view of the evidence that longevity and health in us older people is directly related to the size of our friendship circle.

In addition to entertaining (and being entertained by) Peter and Mel last evening, two other couples have been about yesterday and today. These are Gina and Andrew on Braidbar 124, La Suvera, and Bill and Jo from Mercia on Lady Victoria.

Despite their domestic woes, Peter and Mel were on top form last night and a merry evening was had by all. This morning, we made contact with Gina and Andrew and invited them for morning coffee. This was a good opportunity to catch up with then as we hadn't seen them for a couple of years.

We've also had a couple of chats with Bill and Jo as we passed and repassed their boat going to and from the Farm Shop. We've got pasties to have with salad tonight from there and enough bread to see us through the weekend. We also bought a few other goodies like some apricots for dessert and a butternut squash to use in a veggie chilli sometime.
