My remarks about the return of winter the other day were validated by last night's frost, which got down to around -4ºC. There was a deep frost on the pontoons when we poked our noses out sometime after sunrise, and I'm told by those who were about earlier that there had been a bit of ice on the water.
Some of the frost hadn't thawed by late afternoon, and we're due another cold night tonight.
It was a glorious day for walking, so we took ourselves down to the village for some shopping at the Co-op before lunch, and had a stroll round the marina after we'd eaten. This last took a bit longer than just the distance required, as first off we saw Takey Tezey arriving on the service wharf and went and had a quick chat and nosey inside the boat.
No sooner were we tearing ourselves away from Heth and Dave than Stephen and Jayne appeared on their way to the marina shop, so we joined them for a little, stopping to watch boats manoeuvring by the wharf.
In front of the shop, who should we see but Ian giving Katie a bit more exercise, and another natter occurred. By this time, Stephen and Jayne had done their shopping, so they and we wandered back round to the gate and headed back to our boats.
In the gaps between all this activity, I've done some more proof reading of Sheila's book whilst the author got on with a crochet order. I'm about 75% of the way through it, so with luck will finish that stage by the end of the weekend.
