Snow dog

Well, Sally's not a dog, she's either a hound or a bitch, depending on your point of view*. She's been staying with us as usual on a Tuesday, and we had a brilliant time with the frisbee this morning. Sheila managed to get a few photos, though the combination of a high speed pooch and odd lighting from the snow made it quite challenging. Three were particularly good, so here they are:

Ready for Action

Go on, Grandpa, throw it!

OK, I'm sitting, sort of, now where's the frisbee?
She even did a bit of retrieve with it, though that sort of thing is normally beneath her dignity, not being a collie or a retriever. Back at the boat, she had a good long zizz, before a further walk this afternoon.

Apart from all that, we've been lurking rather, as the weather has been quite yucky, cold, damp and slushy underfoot. We contributed a hose to a set being used to top up folks' water tanks – there's just the one tap working on the pontoon at the moment, the rest being turned off to protect them from the frost.

We took the opportunity to top up our own tank, though with a thaw forecast for the weekend, we'd probably have had enough to get through. Better safe than sorry.

The dehumidifier has been pulling a bit of water out of the air. I'm glad I got one which has an ingenious automatic setting which cycles the condenser on and off if the temperature falls too low, so as to avoid frosting it up. The heating keeps the back of the boat at a minimum of 15ยบ C anyway, but it's good to have the back up.

Tomorrow, Carolann and Graham from Autumn Years are coming over for lunch in The Dragon, so the blog might be a bit brief!

*This is a joke on the same order as:

"Look, Tintern Abbey!"
"Aye it is, that's an abbey all right, you wazzock."

I should have made it clear, it was Sally who did the retrieving, not Sheila.

I'm glad you clarified that - Richard was wondering which "wife training" class you were taking her to!

Sue, nb Indigo Dream

ps. Tell Sally she looks fab - she still has an admirer here even though she's lost poor Lynx....
