A quiet day

Both the weather and our occupations have been quiet today. It's been very pleasant, weatherwise, not desperately sunny, but mild and calm. We've had the doors open a lot of the time, and there's been enough sun to keep the batteries topped up, so no need to run the engine.

We ambled into the village after a lazy start, bought some supplies and a paper and ambled back for a cup of coffee. On the way, we took a look at the river; it's dropped a bit, and is back on the border between green and yellow.

The rest of the morning was spent doing various sorts of housework, and after lunch we took a walk up to Fradley to see if the shop there had a Tillergraph (it didn't) and to scoff an ice cream. The shop's been refurbished and looks very smart. It now has a gallery upstairs with a variety of oil paintings and framed photos by various local artists. Prices ranged from £35 to £500, so something to suit most purses; it would be well worth going there if you were looking for a picture for your wall or as a present.

Back at the boat, Sheila cut up some firewood, and then  we've been loafing, frankly.

I've had an email from a researcher for a TV production company, who are looking for someone just setting out to build their own liveaboard boat as part of a series about self build homes. The brief says, in part:

Remarkable Television is looking for people who have plans to build a unique home with a maximum budget of £100,000.
Are you a first time self-builder, an architect with unique ideas about building on a budget, a builder who’s got the know-how, a family who will manage the project but use a builder  or will you enlist the help of friends and skilled craftspeople when necessary?
We are keen to follow the challenges of building a home on a limited budget.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the project, Remarkable Television would like to hear from you.

If you're interested, drop me an email using the link alongside, and I'll send you the contact details.
