It's been the first day for a bit that we haven't needed to be up and boating, so we took advantage and had a very lazy start, not really getting going until well after eight. We've done a lot of pottering about, boat cleaning and the like.
The main work's actually been done by Sheila, come to think of it, who had a blitz on the routine financial stuff, reconciling the credit card statements and checking the bank accounts for any unexplained transactions. All was well, I'm pleased to say.
I've been into the village for the usual reasons, but apart from that the weather has just not been the sort to encourage excursions, intermittently damp and perpetually dreary.
Elanor is popping in again this evening with some post for us, and I'm sure Sal will be pleased to see us again.
Tomorrow, we'll have a similar day, probably, though it looks as if the conditions outside will be better, so we might get a walk at some point. My blood test is first thing in the morning; at least that will get it out of the way.
Naturally, the next wet day is scheduled to be Thursday, when we're next expecting to boat. On the other hand, it's not due to be very windy, unlike Friday; if the forecast stays that way, we may well make the full run into Mercia on Thursday. You can cover up against the rain, but the wind will blow the boat around regardless.
