We've had one of those days where things got done in a satisfying but not earth shaking way. In particular, Sheila set the tone by making a start on her e-book for this year, and that shamed me into doing a bit in that direction as well.
Sheila's putting together a light hearted volume of humorous tales and incidents, and mine is to be a recipe book of boater's meals, all of which have been cooked on board without too much hassle, and made from ingredients readily available to the boater.
Classic piece-of-string type question from Sheila "Will eight sections be enough?"
Answer: "It depends how long the sections are."
Mind you, assuming we put the same price on these ones as last year's (and we haven't decided that yet, anyone think we should charge more than £3?), we don't really have to sweat too much about value for money.
I must make sure with mine that printing off pages from a computer is allowed, I guess, though there's no reason why you shouldn't prop the Kindle up in the galley, is there?
As well as all that, I gave my boots another coat of dubbin and we joined the Walking for Health group this afternoon. The walk was… along the towpath to the Marina and into the Willow Tree for a cup of tea.
We still enjoyed it; as I think I said last year, it's about getting some socialising outside the marina as much as getting exercise. There's nothing wrong with our social life inside the marina, of course, but it's nice to make contact with the local non-boating community as well.
The weather forecast is not too bad for the next couple of days, so a bit of gunwale repainting might well take place tomorrow.
