As adumbrated yesterday, we had a seriously leisurely start this morning; I didn't even get up to make the first thing tea until after Thought for the Day at ten to eight. By nine o'clock we had managed to get going; the main work has been done by Sheila (no change there). She's been running and tumbling washloads, and giving the engine room a thorough clean.
I did my bit by having a long useful talk with Lloyd off Alice, catching up with all the marina goss.
Because we've got an "end of season" party tonight in the Willow Tree, hosted by the marina management, we decided to have a cooked meal for lunch. I had got some liver out of the freezer, but we didn't fancy that in the middle of the day, so went to the Willow Tree instead. They do excellent light meals; Sheila had a chicken salad and I had broccoli and stilton quiche, both with chips.
This afternoon, I've casseroled the liver anyway, for use over the weekend, and we got the dehumidifier out of its store under the bed; it needs to stand for 24 hours before use. Regular readers will recall that we developed a technique last year for drying the non-tumble-able clothes by hanging them in the engine room with the output from the dehumidifier blowing over them.
During the weekend, we'll continue doing this kind of thing, the liveaboard's equivalent of winterising the boat. The bow locker needs turning out, for example, so that we can stow away the folding chairs and get out the balance of the firewood for cutting up.
Elanor and Sally are coming over tomorrow for some socialising, running Sal in the field and collecting our post from Elanor.
