Well, I liked the Monkees, so there. But I was very young at the time, hadn't even met Sheila…
/wahaha
What have we done this very sunny Monday? We had a lie in after a good night's sleep, which may be just as well (see later). I've been designing some business cards for a fellow boater who's keeping himself occupied in his "retirement" by doing odd plumbing and tiling jobs around the place. Sheila's been doing a lot of washing, it being Monday.
We also decided to take the plunge and get a Little Chimney Company chimney. The original basic mild steel ones we got when Sanity Again was new are starting to look very tired, and the LCC stuff looks good and is custom made from stainless steel, with a seven year guarantee. Delivery is in about two weeks, so I'll let you know how it turns out.
This afternoon, we walked along the towpath to Bridge 20 and back along the offside to where there's a route through under the A38 to Findern. Another footpath goes round the back of the village, and so onto the road back to the marina.
Having done that, I took the hand truck round to the shop and bought two bags of Signal, this year's cheap smokeless fuel. It's £8 for 20 kg so a good price by current standards. Again, I'll let you know what it's like to burn.
Elanor rang at lunchtime; she's not been getting a lot of sleep with all the fireworks going off in Burton winding Sally up, so we're having the pooch here for the night tonight, then looking after her tomorrow as usual. Hopefully, I'll get her to blog about it all tomorrow...
