Midweek

No, not the radio programme, but we are half way through my week of helping Elanor with her house. As I type this, she's now probably glossing woodwork in the bathroom, and I've fitted her carbon monoxide alarm in the boiler cupboard, that being the only like source of CO in the house.

We also got a load of sorting out done in the kitchen, and I unsuccessfully tried to find the leak in her Aerobed. Elanor uses it on WRG camps, and would like to be able to take Sally with her, but it looks as if the Aerobed doesn't cope with dog claws very well.

Does anyone out there know of anything similar that is reasonably dog proof? Maybe a cheapo self inflating air bed is the answer, on the basis that she could just chuck it when it got damaged…

After lunch, she ran me across to Fazeley, where we collected the Little Chimney Co chimney from Kym Franks. It certainly looks very smart, and draws well; we're just waiting to see if it's leak proof – so far, so good.

There's to be a quiz night in the Willow Tree on the 28th of this month; whilst walking round the marina this afternoon, we met up with Stephen and Jayne Piggot, together with son Thomas who's staying with them for a few days. Stephen and Jayne readily agreed to be team partners with us, so that's another social evening sorted.

Just as we got back, we bumped into Lloyd on Alice; he gave me some hugely useful advice about one or two problems we've encountered at Elanor's; as I've said before, he's a diamond geezer is young Lloyd.
