It rained a lot overnight, and has never really stopped all day, just slowing down at times then pouring again. Everywhere is saturated already of course, so there must be a real prospect of more flooding.
We've stayed tucked up inside for the majority of the day, only venturing out to go to the shop and so on. We also met Stephen and Jayne in the Willow Tree for lunch; we'll be together tonight for the Christmas Quiz, so we're repeating the strategy which worked so well last time.
It was another great session and we look forward to an even better time tonight.
After lunch we called into Midland Chandlers and bought a big bag of kindling to see us through the Christmas period, then retreated to the boat for a post prandial doze, recharging the batteries for the mammoth intellectual effort…
