Sitting out the snow

The forecast snow duly arrived during the night, and it's not stopped since. It's not been coming down very hard, until just now there's not been a lot of wind to make it drift and it's quite wet, but it's still resulted in a couple of inches lying. This is isn't exactly a lot, of course, but enough to make it tricky walking up and down slopes. We've dug out the strap on studs we bought a couple of years ago.

It's meant not doing much outside the boat, apart from a quick trip over to the shop to get the paper and visit the office. We continue to use the facilities block loos and shower; some of the other boats got out some hoses to top up their tanks from the one tap still working, but our tank is still virtually full. We've also swept the snow off the pontoon from time to time, just to reduce the work involved when it finally stops.

If conditions go on long enough, we'll need to run some washloads and then will have to get in some more water.

I did a further recipe for my book, last night's sausage cassoulet, and I've made a start on the Braidbar Owners' Group Moorings Guide by converting the entry form for the Pub Guide and setting up the outline for the guide itself.

Apart from that, we've been sitting tight in our nice warm boat. Elanor made it into work, but was planning to work through her lunch hour and go home early.

The snow is expected to carry on for most of another 24 hours before becoming a bit more intermittent.
